Holacaust

The holocaust was a very terrible event in history. In my opinion it's one of the worst events that has ever happened. The Jewish people should have never been treated that way. Six million Jews died, and for what? They died for nothing. This video had a lot of information on it and it was very sad. These people never deserved to be tortured to death. They were just standing up f or their religion. It was a very brave thing to do. I can't believe all those people were killed and the people that followed Hitler did nothing about it. They went along with it! These people that died are true heroes.

Gossip

I think gossip is a terrible thing. It ruins peoples reputation and it gets out of hand to quickly. I hate gossiping and people who gossip, it's a really bad thing to do and is just really mean. I know people who gossip and maybe it is interesting it is still really mean and half the time it's not even true. I'm really sick of all the gossip that goes around and the people who love to gossip. I'm just done with it, i hate all the rumors that go around. No one should be put through that, it's jut really mean.

Folk

I chose folk music for my computer project. Our class had to tell us about there genre and where it originated, what instruments are used, and the well known artists today. It had to be between one t three minutes long and we could have between four to seven songs. I choose songs by Chris O'Brien, Matt Nathanson, Brett Dennen, and Joshua James. These are some of the popular artists from the folk genre. I really like these artists so I put them in there. I think this was a fun project and it would be fun to do again.

Easter

Over Easter break I stayed in Peoria. That stunk but it was still pretty good. I had softball everyday and then every night i would hang out with my friends. We had bonfires and Austin had a little party and that was fun. It was nice to sleep in everyday. We stayed up really late and got to sleep in late too. On Easter I had dinner with my family and it was really good and nice to see them all. It was a really good break even though I did not get to go anywhere, I still had a lot of fun.

You

This quote is about you being yourself in no one else. i like it because it says that no matter what you can't be someone else, so it's better to be your own person. There are a lot of people who say you have to look and act a certain way, like others do, but you don't. You create who you are and you are a unique person. Don't follow what other people are doing, just what you like. No one can go and boss you around and tell you to do this and that. You should be your own person.

Lent

For lent i gave up not eating between meals. It's going really good. I have not broken it for a while. The only time I eat between meals is if it is healthy and before practice. It has been awhile since I have broken it and if I break it I will still do it on Sunday. It has boughten me closer to God. I think i could be a little closer though. This has been hard but it has also been worth it. It is fun to do something challenging. This isn’t that bad. Next year i might do this again.

Future Career

I am not completely sure what i want to be when i grow up. I was thinking about photography because i really love to take pictures. I think that might get a little boring thought. I want a really adventurous job. A doctor would be a good job but i think that would also get boring at times. I just want something very interesting and something that never gets boring and is also very adventurous. If i was to be a photographer i would need some training in the arts. If i was to be a doctor i would need a lot of schooling, but it would be worth it. I'm not sure what career i will enter, I'll just have to see what else there is.

Service Project

The service project i will be working is a summer care at St.Mark's school. I work there in the summer for two days a week for four hours each time. I help kids, from 4th grade and down, with academics they need to work on. i also watch them with the other volunteers that work there. We usually take a field trip every wednesday. We go some place fun for the kids. They have school work in the morning and then they swim and eat lunch in the afternoon. Last summer i got 85 hours from  this project. I think by helping the kids with there schoolwork I'm making a difference even if it's just a little one.

Madagascar

I'm working on my Garage Band project and the movie I'm doing is Madagascar. It's a funny animated movie about some animals from a zoo in New York that escape and find themselves on a island called Madagascar and make friends with some penguins and lemurs and try to get off that island. I really like this movie. It is really funny and fun to watch. I almost have my script written, so tomorrow I will be able to start recording. The music I am using is from the movie. It's called I Like To Move It by Crazy Frog. It's a funny dance song. I'm not really sure how to get the music on there though, so i should probably figure that out. the pictures I am going to be putting up there are from the movie. I will put the characters up there and the island.

cocoon_cfht_big.jpg

Explanation: How did this nebula get created? The Cocoon Nebula, cataloged as IC 5146, is a strikingly beautiful nebula located about 4,000 light yearsaway toward the constellation of Cygnus. Inside the Cocoon is a newly developing open cluster of stars. Like other stellar nurseries, the Cocoon Nebula is, at the same time, an emission nebula, a reflection nebula, and an absorption nebulaSpeculation based on recent measurements holds that the massive star in the center of the above image opened a hole in an existing molecular cloud through which much of the glowing material flows. The same star, which formed about 100,000 years ago, now provides the energy source for much of the emitted and reflected light from this nebula.

Nemiroff, Robert, and Jerry Bonnell. "Astronomy Picture of the Day." Nasa.gov. 14 Oct. 2002. 19 Feb. 2009 .

I chose this picture because it looked really cool and it has pretty colors. It's called the Cocoon Nebula. It's really far away from us thuoght. It's 4,000 light years away. A  light year is the distance light can travel in a year. So we could never see it without a telescope. It is by the constellation Cygnus. If you look inside the Cocoon there are new stars in there. They think that the big star in the center opened a hole in the exsisting molecular cloud and that is why you can see all those colors in the Coccon. I think it is a very pretty picture.

Strange Gadget

There is a weird gadget out there called the shower belt. You literally wear it like a belt and will hook up to facets. The buckle is the nozzle. So wherever you are you can clean yourself. It is targeted toward people who travel a lot, so if they're in the airport and don't have time for a shower they can use their shower belt in the bathroom. It is suppose to save you time, but who would want to shower in  a restroom with their belt. That is a little strange. It can even be hooked up to a water fountain if you need to freshen up just a little bit. The belt is odd but kind of cool.

Athletes

The media has not gone to far reporting stories like this. They are just telling us what is happening with sports and what athletes are up too.  Athletes can have fun other ways beside doing drugs. Everyone looked up to Michael Phelps and he went out and did drugs. They are other ways to let loose than doing drugs. A-Rod shouldn't have taken steroids to get ahead. He should've worked really hard like everyone else does. It's not fair that he gets a lot of fame when he didn't even do some of the work. It is not fair to the rest of the players.

Golf

Did you know that golf can be good for your health. A study has shown that those who play golf have a death rate almost 40 percent lower than non-golfers. Which means it can add an extra five years to your life. It's a form of low-intensity excercise. Your outside for four to five hours walking at a fast pace. it burns up calories, reduces stress, and cholesterol. It gently burns off fat. It can keep your joints in trim when you lower the tee or swing. It releases endorphins in your system which enhance your mood, as long as you don't strive to play like Tiger. Just enjoy yourself out there. It is also a mental challenge. You are constantly thinking when you play golf. You could be calculating yards or counting your shots. It is also a social game that gets you to know someone better. It also teaches you respect for others on the coarse. Injuries are a rare thing on the coarse. It can be good for your health and safe for your heart. Golf carts are fun but, Walking an eighteen hole coarse is like walking four miles. When you are carrying your golf bag you are burning more calories.

Mortage

The legal name for the process of a mortgage lender reclaiming the home of someone who fails to pay the mortgage is foreclosure. Today people need really good credit scores to apply for a loan on a house and get the best rate on that loan. From the pools of the lending industry, in May of 2006, a borrower needed a credit score of 620 or above to qualify for the best interest rates on a mortgage. Two years later, after the housing crisis and all of its fallout, borrowers would need a score of 760 or above to qualify for the best rates. Some are calling it the worst housing crisis since the great depression. I think that the government should be helping people on this. Some of them really need help and it's almost impossible to get a loan on a house with bad credit. I would be really mad if the government was going to take my house away. I would probally turn to my relatives for help. I'm not sure i know anyone who was effected by this, but if i did i would try to help them as much as i could. It's not fair for people to get there homes taken away if they do not deserve it.

Power Jam

In p.e. the girls are doing an activity called power jam. We watch a video where people are exercising  and we follow what they do and exercise with them. We do this for about sixteen minutes. I don't think we should have to do this. It's really boring and pointless. We get more exercise playing actual games and gym, and those games are a lot more fun than power jam. The guys don't have to do it. They get to play basketball and since they get to play a game than we should too. We just move around on a mat listening to the lady sing and exercise. It's really not fun at all.

Obama

I liked the inauguration this last week. I think it was a milestone for this country. I like that we have a new president and a new first family. They seem very nice. I don't like his choices for cabinet postions. I don't think they will help very much. I don't agree on some of the things Obama is proposing. I don't like that he is for abortion but I do like that he is against gay marriage. I don't like Obama's proposition of  $1000 energy rebate for consumers. I think that he will try to help the economy but I'm not sure if he will succeed. I think he will be an o.k. president.
