He broadcast News and Comment and The Rest of the Story. He was named Commentator of the year, salesman of the year, father of the year, person of the year, and American of the year. He attended the University of Tulsa. In 1940 he covered the United States Navy in Hawaii. After that he moved to Chicago where he began broadcasting from WENR. Later in 200 he signed a $100 million contact with ABC radio networks. He died at the age of 90. He was in the hospital surrounded by his family when he went.
